Media Essence and its affiliates have expressed their deepest condolences to the Trebarh family on the passing of Mawuena Trebarh.
According to a statement signed by Francis Mawutor, the Managing Director of Media Essence who also doubles as the Convener of the GSJ-Awards, Mawuena’s departure has left a void in the hearts of many including those she came into contact with.
“We are profoundly saddened by the loss of such a remarkable individual. Mawuena’s contributions to our organization were truly invaluable. we were privileged to have Mawuena Endorse and support our upcoming Ghana Students’ Journalism Awards (GSJ-Awards) and Media Mentorship project, demonstrating exceptional commitment to our shared goals.”

The statement also added that the commitment and support of Mawuena towards projects of Media Essence exemplified her dedication to fostering excellence in journalism.

Born on April 12, 1971, Mawuena Adzo Trebarh, served as the first female CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).
Additionally, Trebarh held the distinction of being the first female Board Chairperson of the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Ghana. Her career spanned both the private and public sectors, showcasing her versatility and leadership abilities.
