In the middle of 2019, I spotted Ali Taha during a Swedish Division 2 amateur league match between his club, IFK Stocksund, and IFK Haninge.
At that point during the game, my colleague (partner) and I couldn’t see the qualities in Ali Taha. Even he didn’t believe in him, as others did in Sweden, because Taha had a smallish body and he was from Somalia.
For me, I saw his attitude and ability on the pitch, and I said, “This is a world-class player.” For example, he had good speed, quick feet, dribbling skills, was smart, and his 1v1 ability and contribution to his team were massive, but he wasn’t a good finisher by then.
At the end of the season in Division 2, in December 2019, my colleague and I moved him to IFK Sollentuna in Division 1 for further development.
After the end of the season at IFK Sollentuna, Ali Taha was a blast, with massive performances in the Swedish Division 1 league, where he gave a lot of assists and scored some incredible goals for IFK Sollentuna.
On February 6, 2021, Ali Taha signed ✍️ for Örebro in the Swedish top flight. The rest was history!
I’m happy for Taha for being part of the current Swedish national team and playing for Malmö FF, a top club in Sweden.
Ali Taha’s dream came true, but it has not been an easy journey.
I’m not surprised by what Ali Taha is doing currently in football because I saw it coming a long time ago.
I’m not sure the football world is really ready to see more crazy dribbling skills from Taha.
