Former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Kobina Ade Coker, has passed away.
Sources within the party confirmed that he died on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness.
Ade Coker was first elected as Greater Accra Regional Chairman in 2009 and held the position for over a decade until 2022, when he lost his re-election bid to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the current regional chairman.
Beyond politics, Ade Coker also made contributions to Ghanaian football, having previously served as a Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Tributes have begun pouring in from party members and associates, describing him as a committed party stalwart and a dedicated public servant.
