Former Ledzokuku MP, Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, has secured a landslide victory in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Greater Accra Regional Chairman election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The former Health Minister polled 490 votes to defeat his sole challenger, Alfred Boye, who secured 172 votes, giving him a commanding 318-vote margin.
His victory gives him a clear mandate to lead the NPP’s regional structures as the party seeks to rebuild its political fortunes in Greater Accra ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The NPP suffered a significant setback in the region during the 2024 general elections, losing several parliamentary seats.
The party previously held 14 of Greater Accra’s 34 parliamentary seats but saw its number fall to five after the 2024 elections.
Dr Okoe-Boye will therefore be tasked with leading the regional party structure through the rebuilding process while working with constituency executives to strengthen the NPP’s presence across Greater Accra.
