Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has pledged his support for whoever will emerge victorious in the NPP’s flagbearer elections.
Mr Agyapong who is one of the frontrunners in the elections said he’ll humbly accept the result, no matter the outcome, and support the winner.
Addressing the media moments after casting his ballot at the Pentecost Worship Centre in the Assin Central constituency, the usually fiery Kennedy Agyapong appeared calm and declared: “I have psyched myself for whatever the outcome will be. Even if I lose, I will still support the winner to break the 8.”
Clad in a white long-sleeve and denim jeans trousers, he also highlighted plans by his team to collate their votes.
“We have a centre where the results instantly come in so be rest assured we will get our numbers on time. There is no violence, nothing and we will all go to the stadium this evening to celebrate. Whoever wins is for the party. It’s not an individual thing. If I win, I will be there, If I don’t win, I will be there,” he said.
Over 200,000 delegates are expected to participate in the election nationwide, which will take place in 275 polling stations and 16 regional centres.
Ahead of the polls, all four aspirants have signed an undertaking to accept the results of the presidential primaries.
The aspirants have also agreed not to resign from the Party if they lose the elections and support the eventual winner of the contest.
