Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed his confidence in securing victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023. However, he has humbly acknowledged that the final outcome lies in the hands of God.
“I’m reasonably confident of winning,” Bawumia remarked after casting his ballot at the NPP Headquarters, adding, “But it’s in God’s hands.”
Dr. Bawumia is one of four candidates contending for the NPP flagbearer position. The other contenders include Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.
Over 200,000 NPP delegates from across the country are casting their votes to elect a presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
To maintain party cohesion and prevent resignations following the primary, all four candidates signed an agreement on October 2, committing not to resign if they do not emerge as the chosen candidate.
