Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has marked exactly one year since he was sworn into office, describing the period as a humbling and fulfilling journey of service to the nation.
Reflecting on his first year in office in a social media post accompanied by a video documentary, the Minister recalled that his first official assignment after taking office was representing President John Dramani Mahama at the Paris AI Summit.
One year on, he disclosed that he is currently accompanying President Mahama, together with 12 technology chief executives, on a State Visit to Zambia.
“The past year has had high and low moments, periods of outstanding achievement and deep reflection. I have watched myself evolve and seen growth in multiple spheres. It has been a foundational year with many vistas of possibilities.”
The Minister expressed gratitude to God for guidance and direction throughout the year and commended the team he works with for their dedication and commitment.
“I am grateful to the Most High for His guidance and direction. To the team I work with, you are amazing. I will fight with you when I need to see action, but you know we always end up laughing together. To H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the story of my life can never be written without the calligraphy of your influence. I am indebted. To my family, you are my anchor and compass. I cherish you!”
“I look forward to a year of many significant interventions, both on policy and innovation, aimed at making our sector the cynosure of all eyes.”
