The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has announced a postponement of the scheduled reopening of Parliament slated for Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
According to a statement from the Speaker’s office dated Monday, October 6, the resumption has been deferred until further notice.
Mr Bagbin explained that the decision was compelled by circumstances beyond his control, assuring that a new date will be communicated once the issues have been resolved.
“I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is deferred until further notice due to circumstances beyond my control,” the Speaker said in the notice.
The postponement follows an earlier Notice to Summon Parliament dated September 29, which initially set October 14 as the date for the next sitting.
