The Ministry of Finance has announced the payment of GH¢10.82 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).
According to the Ministry, the latest payment brings the total amount paid to DDEP bondholders since 2025 to GH¢41.36 billion.
The latest obligation totalling GH¢10,816,840,318.26 is the third DDEP coupon payment to be made entirely in cash and was settled in full and on schedule.
This follows an assurance by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson during the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament that government would honour the coupon payment due on August 18.
The Ministry said the payment would help strengthen investor confidence, reduce Ghana’s sovereign default risk and reinforce the country’s financial credibility.

The DDEP was introduced as part of efforts to restore Ghana’s debt sustainability and involved the restructuring of domestic bonds held by banks, pension funds, insurance companies, individual investors and other creditors.
The Ministry of Finance also assured bondholders, investors and the public that all future DDEP obligations will be paid in full and on schedule.
