The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has once again been remanded into police custody by an Accra Circuit Court.
Abronye, who was first arrested on Monday, September 8, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service, is facing charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace and publication of false news. The court ruled on Friday that he should remain in custody to allow prosecutors more time to complete their investigations.
The outspoken politician, known for his hard-hitting public commentary, is expected to reappear in court on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Although the police have not provided full details of the conduct that triggered his arrest, his recent activities—including filing asylum applications in eight countries, alleging political persecution—have generated widespread national interest.
