The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Richmond Edem Kpotosu, has donated 50 bags of cement to the Ho Police Training School to support the completion of an ongoing training square project.
The donation was made during a visit to the school as part of the MP’s broader initiative to support security institutions within his constituency. Hon. Kpotosu underscored the importance of strengthening the infrastructure of the training school to enhance the preparedness and professionalism of police recruits who play a critical role in maintaining peace and order.
“The training square is essential for drills, parades, and physical exercises. Supporting its completion will significantly boost the quality of training our officers receive,” the MP stated.
He also assured school authorities that the roads leading to the police bungalows would soon receive a facelift, reaffirming his commitment to improving the living and working conditions of security personnel in the constituency.
The Commander of the Ho Police Training School, ACP William Yankey Acolatse, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Kpotosu for the timely intervention.
Speaking at a brief ceremony during the presentation, ACP Acolatse described the gesture as a significant contribution to the school’s infrastructural development.
“This donation is a clear demonstration of the MP’s dedication to improving security training facilities in Ho. A befitting training square is essential for our operations, and this support brings us closer to achieving that goal,” he said.
ACP Acolatse further called on non-governmental organizations (NGOs), corporate entities, and well-meaning individuals to emulate the MP’s example by supporting the school in any way they can. He noted that while the government continues to provide assistance, it cannot meet all the infrastructural and logistical demands of security institutions alone.
“We are calling on NGOs and other development partners to consider supporting the Ho Police Training School. The training of security personnel is a shared responsibility, and partnerships like this are vital in building a stronger, more effective police service,” he added.
Hon. Kpotosu reiterated his unwavering support for the Ghana Police Service and other security institutions within the Ho Central Constituency. He praised the police for their relentless efforts in safeguarding lives and property and pledged his continued commitment to enhancing their operational capacity through improved infrastructure and logistics.
The donation marks yet another step in the MP’s mission to promote community safety and strengthen institutional readiness in Ho Central.
