ShakeORama 2024: Rotary Club of Accra-Ring Road Central Brings the 70s Back to Life to Support Berekuso Community Clinic

The Rotary Club of Accra-Ring Road Central (RRC) is set to light up the festive season with its highly anticipated annual fundraising event, ShakeORama 2024, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Silver Star Towers in Airport City, Accra. Themed “Back to the Magical 70s,” this year’s edition promises a nostalgic journey to the vibrant disco era, complete with afro wigs, flared trousers, and classic boombox vibes.

ShakeORama, which has been a hallmark of the Rotary Club’s calendar for 17 years, has consistently combined entertainment with a purpose. This year, the proceeds will support the construction and enhancement of a community clinic in Berekuso, a project aimed at providing critical health facilities for the underserved community.

The event kicks off at 6:00 PM and invites revellers to relive the 70s with non-stop grooving to iconic hits from the disco age. Tickets are available for GHS 150, and special table reservations range from Silver (GHS 5,000) to Platinum (GHS 15,000). For ticket purchases, attendees can scan the QR code on the event flyer or contact designated Rotarians for assistance.

Event organizers encourage attendees to don their best 70s attire and immerse themselves in an evening of dance, camaraderie, and giving back. The event not only marks the official Christmas rave but also showcases the power of collective efforts to drive change in society.

Over the years, ShakeORama has served as a creative platform for fundraising, with each year introducing unique themes to excite and engage attendees while making a significant impact in communities across Ghana.

This year’s cause, the Berekuso Community Clinic Project, is indicative of Rotary’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare access.

Located in the Eastern Region, Berekuso faces significant healthcare challenges, and the clinic project seeks to bridge the gap by providing essential medical services to the community.
