The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the Ejisu by-election is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
This decision was disclosed during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting held on Tuesday.
The by-election comes as a result of the unfortunate passing of the former Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, whose demise was reported on March 07.
In anticipation of the upcoming election, both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), which currently holds the seat, and the largest opposition Party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have intensified their campaign efforts.
For instance, the NPP has endorsed nine candidates to participate in a primary election aimed at selecting a candidate to represent them in the by-election.
