Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom MP, Sylvester Tetteh, have made peace after their near brawl during today’s parliamentary session.
The reconciliation was made possible through the instrumentality of the Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin who provided an opportunity for both MPs to air their grievances, ultimately leading to a resolution to maintain peace.
Photographs and videos captured the two MPs smiling beside each other on the 9th floor of Mr Afenyo-Markin who also doubles as the Effutu MP.
During the lighthearted moment, Afenyo-Markin jokingly suggested that Mr Agyapong, a former presidential aspirant for the NPP, should have made his intentions earlier to court the NPP MPs.
He also invited the feuding parties to a reconciliation breakfast session and made jokes about the failed presidential bid of Mr Agyapong.
The reconciliation comes in the aftermath of a dramatic confrontation between the two MPs, which escalated tensions within the chamber. The confrontation reportedly began when Mr Agyapong approached Sly Tetteh, leading to a heated verbal exchange.
Despite ongoing parliamentary proceedings, the two engaged in a fiery argument over the non-payment of a loan Mr Agyapong gave to the Bortianor MP.
The confrontation which took many MPs by surprise was alleged to be due to the refusal of Sly Tetteh to pay back the loan he contracted from Ken Agyapong.
Again, it was the Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin who swiftly intervened to separate the two MPs and restore order in the chamber.
