Ghana’s Head Coach, Chris Hughton, in preparation for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), is set to reveal his final squad later today, Monday, January 1, 2024. Ghana is one of the 24 nations participating in the prestigious biennial tournament taking place in Cote D’Ivoire.
A statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced that Coach Chris Hughton will address the media at the Alisa Hotel at 11 am.
“Ghana coach Chris Hughton would face the media on Monday, January 1, 2024, to announce his final squad for the Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023 tournament. The media event would take place at the Alisa Hotel at 11 am.”
The Black Stars are scheduled to commence their training camp at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. As part of their tournament preparations, the four-time AFCON winners will engage in an international friendly against Namibia on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Ghana finds itself in Group B alongside Egypt, Mozambique, and Cape Verde for the upcoming tournament. The 2023 AFCON is slated to kick off on Saturday, January 13, and will run through Sunday, February 11, 2024.
