The 8th Akwasidae Festival of 2025 at the Manhyia Palace witnessed an unexpected moment when a real-life “Superman” showed up to pay homage to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the people of Asanteman.
Ghanaians were taken by surprise on Sunday, November 9, 2025, when pictures and videos of a tall Caucasian man dressed in a Superman costume walking majestically into the palace grounds went viral across social media. Many wondered who this mysterious “Superman” was and what had brought him to the Akwasidae celebration.
It later emerged that the man behind the cape was Brazilian lawyer, philanthropist, and content creator Leonardo Muylaert, popularly known online as “Tall Clark.” Muylaert, who gained international fame after winning a Superman costume contest due to his uncanny resemblance to the comic book hero, has since become known for using his persona to bring joy and hope to people around the world.

During his visit to the Manhyia Palace, Tall Clark was accompanied by a Ghanaian aide and a woman. He presented a special framed artwork to the Asantehene — a gesture he described as a symbol of his global social initiative, which spreads smiles across hospitals, schools, and communities in different countries, including Ghana.

“The warmth and cultural richness I experienced here in Ghana are truly inspiring. This artwork represents my mission to spread happiness and hope wherever I go.”

The brief but memorable encounter was marked by mutual respect and cultural exchange, as Otumfuo Osei Tutu II warmly received his guest.
