Nana Aba Stampedes President Mahama For Obuobia

Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah is in no small way stampeding President John Dramani Mahama on behalf of Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku.

Nana Aba says President Mahama should have offered Madam Obuobia a bigger position than the current one she occupies.

Madam Obuobia is presently the Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

Nana Aba, in several social media posts, claimed that Madam Obuobia worked hard to bring the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to power and therefore deserves more.

On her X account, Nana Aba said: “Obuobia Darko-Opoku practically wore out the soles of her shoes for her party ahead of the Dec. 7 elections. Her intellect? Undeniable. Her loyalty? Unmatched. Her dedication…”

In another post on the same platform, the media personality said, “Obuobia didn’t just campaign. She connected. From dawn meetings at Keta to late-night rallies at Techiman, she showed up. It is obvious she deserves more than a Deputy MD position.”

“When the stakes were high, Obuobia was higher—on platforms, in communities, in strategy rooms. Someone who gave her all deserves a seat where she can make a national difference,” Nana Aba said in another post.

However, NDC insiders are unhappy with the position taken by the media personality on behalf of Madam Obuobia, as it insinuates that President Mahama does not know what he is doing.

According to the insiders, the GACL has never had the position of Deputy Managing Director—an indication that President Mahama created that position specifically for Madam Obuobia.

They noted that others equally struggled and worked extremely hard towards the December 7, 2024, elections, but have not received any appointments. Still, they are not complaining because they believe in the leadership style of the President.

The NDC insiders added that Madam Obuobia should be able to disassociate herself from Nana Aba’s X posts if they were not made at her behest.
