The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) has called on its prepaid meters across the country to top up their meters to last at least a month.
According to the service provider, this is due to an urgent upgrade of its Nuri prepayment meters as part of the mandatory Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) protocol.
In a notice issued on Saturday, November 23, ECG advised customers to purchase enough top-up credit to avoid potential disruptions during the upgrade.
“Please buy enough top-up credit that will last for at least one month in order not to experience vending disruptions that might arise out of the ongoing Nuri meter upgrading exercise,” the statement read.
To facilitate the process, ECG encouraged customers to contact its call centre or reach out via its social media platforms for support.
The company highlighted that this upgrade is a critical step to ensure the continued delivery of smooth and dependable service to all customers.
