The Volta Regional Director of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA), Divine Kporha, has begun a series of courtesy visits to key health sector regulatory institutions to strengthen collaboration and improve healthcare regulation in the region.
The visits, which mark his first official engagements since assuming office, included interactions with the Pharmacy Council, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Mr. Kporha said the engagements were aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation, enhancing regulatory compliance and ensuring the delivery of safe and quality health services to residents of the Volta Region.
He noted that effective collaboration among regulatory bodies is critical to building public confidence in the health system and addressing challenges within the sector.
During the visits, the institutions discussed shared mandates and coordinated regulatory approaches to improve oversight in the health sector.
Mr. Kporha also inspected ongoing construction works on HeFRA’s new regional office in Ho, which is expected to improve operational efficiency and service delivery upon completion.
He expressed appreciation to the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, for his support in securing office accommodation for the agency.
Mr. Kporha reaffirmed HeFRA’s commitment to working with stakeholders to promote effective regulation and improved healthcare standards in the region.
