Ghana’s Parliament is hosting its annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, bringing together Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, clergy, and invited guests for an evening of reflection and worship.
The event under the auspices of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin forms part of the activities marking the Christmas season within the parliamentary community.
This year’s service is themed “The Message of Christmas – A Reflection for Mankind,” focusing on peace, unity, compassion, and hope, values central to the Christmas message and national cohesion.
The festival features scripture readings, choral renditions of traditional Christmas carols, and musical performances by selected choirs.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has become an important fixture on Parliament’s calendar, offering lawmakers and staff an opportunity to pause from legislative duties to reflect on the spiritual significance of Christmas and the collective responsibility to promote peace and goodwill in Ghana.
