Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary delivered a spectacular performance in the one-eighth stage of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), advancing to the quarterfinals stage with an outstanding victory.
At the CNC Auditorium in the University of Cape Coast, the Koforidua-based school faced Ghana SHS, Tamale and Awudome SHS — and right from the opening round, it was clear that Pope John meant business.
They dominated all five rounds with precision and confidence, eventually amassing an impressive 58 points, while Ghana SHS, Tamale and Awudome SHS trailed with 25 and 23 points, respectively.
The commanding win not only cements Pope John’s seeded status but also positions them as strong contenders in this year’s competition. Their performance sends a clear message to their next challengers — Pojoss is coming for the trophy.
