The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) – Volta Regional Branch, in partnership with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), has unveiled a special music album in Ho aimed at raising funds to equip the region’s musical landscape with modern instruments and sustain vibrant public performances.
The initiative seeks to nurture emerging talents and bolster regional development efforts through the unifying power of music.
Speaking at the launch, the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, reaffirmed the VRCC’s unwavering commitment to promoting music as a symbol of unity and strength for the people of the region.
Gabriel Tanko Atokple, the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, lauded the MUSIGA executives for their vision and described the album project as “a proud expression of identity, unity, spirit, and legacy.”
The event also honoured some of the region’s celebrated musical icons, Agboti Yaw, Israel Nanevi Maweta, Tony D, Lady Pat, and Cee Wayo, whose enduring contributions have inspired generations and uplifted society through music.
The album launch marks a significant step in strengthening the region’s creative industry and preserving Volta’s rich musical heritage, while creating opportunities for young artistes to develop their skills and share their art with the world.
