During the inauguration ceremony, Speaker Bagbin urged the board and parliamentary leadership to prioritize enhanced security within the precincts of Parliament.

He noted instances of intruders breaching security describing the situation as a threat to parliamentary functions.

“This is vital for the functioning of Parliament. I believe the ninth board will work assiduously to make this a reality. I will call on the leaders of the house to follow up on this matter,” the Speaker added.
