The Accra High Court has set July 11, 2023, to deliver its ruling on a stay of proceedings application moved by lawyers for Assin North MP, James Gyakye Quayson.
This comes after the lawyers requested the court to stay the proceedings on the basis that the Court of Appeal should first hear their appeal to review the trial judge’s decision to hear the case on a day-to-day basis.

Lead counsel Tsatsu Tsikata contended that proceeding without a stay would be prejudging the appeal. But the prosecution, led by Attorney General Godfred Dame, opposed the application.
