The Government of Ghana has confirmed a terrorist attack in Titao, Burkina Faso, involving a truck transporting tomato traders from Ghana.
In a statement issued on Sunday, February 15, 2026, the Minister for the Interior and National Security, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, described the information received from Burkina Faso as “disturbing” and said authorities are working urgently to establish the full details of the incident.
“The Government of Ghana has received disturbing information from Burkina Faso of a truck carrying tomato traders from Ghana, which was caught in a terrorist attack in Titao on Saturday, 14th February, 2026,” the Minister stated.

He disclosed that the Ghana Embassy has begun active engagement with Burkina Faso officials to assess the situation on the ground and identify any Ghanaians affected.
“The Ghana Embassy in Burkina Faso is liaising with the officials of Burkina Faso to visit the attack site for details and identification of Ghanaians caught in the attack,” Mr. Muntaka said.
The Interior Minister assured the public that the government will keep Ghanaians informed as investigations continue.
