The Majority Caucus in Parliament has joined the family of the late Ayawaso East Member of Parliament, Naser Toure Mahama, to mourn his passing, describing him as a humble leader whose commitment to public service left a lasting imprint on Parliament.
The caucus paid tribute during a visit to the residence of the widow, Hajia Amina Adam, in Accra on Thursday, February 5, 2026, and also made a cash donation of GH¢100,000 to support the bereaved family.
Leading the delegation, the First Deputy Majority Whip and Member of Parliament for Ada, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, said the late MP was widely respected for his humility, kindness and ability to work harmoniously with colleagues across the political divide.
“His leadership in humility is a rare quality, and it is clear that our brother left a lasting impact on his constituency and on this House,” she stated.
She added that the visit was to formally convey the condolences of the Speaker of Parliament and the entire Majority Caucus to the family and to stand in solidarity with them during the period of mourning.
“We have to do the needful and pay our last respects, and today I am here on behalf of the Speaker of Parliament and the Majority Caucus to present GH¢100,000 to the widow and the family,” Madam Cudjoe-Ghansah said.
The late Naser Toure Mahama passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and has since been laid to rest.
At his funeral held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Bernard Ahiafor, paid glowing tribute to the late MP, describing him as a diligent and dedicated “committee man” who served on key parliamentary committees, including Energy, Roads and Transportation, and the House Committee.
“Hon. Naser was known for meticulous preparation and a strong focus on value-for-money assessments during committee deliberations, frequently interrogating whether government contracts served the best interests of taxpayers,” he said.
