Stan Dogbe apologises for pushing Military Officer

The Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, Stan Dogbe, has rendered an unqualified apology to a military officer following an incident at the Ghana Military Academy Graduation Ceremony held on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Mr Dogbe was captured in a viral video physically pushing a military officer during the ceremony, an action that sparked widespread public criticism, particularly on social media. The military officer, who was operating a camera, attempted to take shots of the President when Stan Dogbe forcefully pushed him away.

In a Facebook post issued after the incident, Mr Dogbe explained that his actions were prompted by what he described as repeated disruptions by the officer to a live camera feed during the event.

“This is to apologise to my friend, Cpl Ofosu, for physically pushing him away after his repeated disruption of a live camera operator during today’s ceremony,” he wrote.

He extended the apology to other security personnel, stressing the need for improved coordination at public events.

“I know he and my other friends in uniform will accept my apology as we work to enhance and improve our existing collaboration at events,” Mr Dogbe added.

The incident occurred in the presence of President John Dramani Mahama and has drawn renewed public attention to conduct at official state functions.
