The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) will today, Thursday, October 9, 2025, launch the 29th GJA Media Awards and inaugurate a nine-member committee to vet entries and select winners for this year’s ceremony.
The launch, expected to take place at the Alisa Hotel, Accra, at 1:00 p.m., will be hosted by GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor.
Guest speakers for the event include Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications; Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group; and Prince Oheneba Nana Kwaku Duah, Managing Director of Ashanti Green Initiative (AGI).
The awards committee will be chaired by Gabriel Bosompem, former Commissioner of the National Media Commission and former Production Manager at TV3 (Media General).

This year’s GJA Media Awards will be held in November 2025 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Key awards to be presented include the GJA/P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, Komla Dumor Most Promising Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.
“The 29th GJA Media Awards will be majestic and magnificent as we expect national and international dignitaries to grace the event,” the Association said in a statement.
GJA also expressed gratitude to its corporate sponsors — including KGL Group and Alisa Hotels — for their support, and called on more partners to join in making the event a success.
In September, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor extended an invitation to former President John Dramani Mahama to serve as Special Guest of Honour at the awards night.
