President John Dramani Mahama has appointed renowned media personality and CEO of Nineteen 57, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), as the Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs.
KOD, a respected figure in Ghana’s media, fashion, and entertainment industries, is known for his role in bridging Ghana with its global diaspora. His appointment reflects Mahama’s commitment to deepening engagement with Ghanaians abroad, promoting investment opportunities, and strengthening cultural and economic ties.
As the founder of the acclaimed fashion and music event Rhythms on Da Runway and CEO of the clothing brand Nineteen 57, KOD has played a pivotal role in showcasing Ghanaian fashion and culture on the international stage.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Media, Arts, and Culture, formerly Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).
KOD is married to renowned fashion designer Ophelia Crossland. His contributions to Ghana’s creative industry have earned him multiple awards, including Most Stylish Radio Personality of the Year at the 2015 Glitz Style Awards and Most Fashionable Man of the Year at the 2017 Exclusive Men of the Year Awards.
