The Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has finally submitted an Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation to Parliament, seeking approval for GH¢68.1 billion to cover essential government spending from January to March 2025.
This mini-budget is designed to sustain critical government operations during the first quarter of 2025, ensuring the smooth running of state affairs until the incoming administration presents a comprehensive budget for the rest of the year.
Key allocations from the GH¢68.1 billion provision will go towards public sector salaries, statutory obligations, infrastructure maintenance, and social intervention programs.
The submission of this mini-budget aligns with constitutional requirements to prevent financial disruptions during transitional periods.
Following the presentation, Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako referred the budget to Parliament’s Budget and Finance Committees for consideration and report. The committees are expected to assess the figures and policies before submitting their report for debate and approval.
