The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced its leadership team for Ghana’s next Parliament following a crunch National Council meeting which had in attendance, the outgoing President Akufo-Addo, the party’s 2024 flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia among others.
Effutu MP Alexander Afenyo-Markin who currently leads the NPP caucus in the House will assume the role of Minority Leader in the upcoming 9th Parliament.
Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has been named Deputy Minority Leader while the Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP Frank Annoh-Dompreh, will serve as Minority Chief Whip.
Other key appointments include Habib Iddrisu, who will serve as 1st Deputy Minority Whip, and Mpraseo MP Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK) as 2nd Deputy Minority Whip.
The only newcomer to the NPP caucus leadership is Davis Opoku Ansah, replacing Alex Tetteh, the outgoing 2nd Deputy Whip, who lost his reelection bid in the 2024 polls.
