In a recent open letter addressed to Electoral Commissioner Jean Mensa, Dr James Dickson Fiagborlo has expressed concerns about potential electoral manipulation in Ghana. He highlights troubling reports of alleged illegal voter transfers and questionable data practices that could undermine the democratic process.
Dr. Fiagborlo points to evidence presented by the largest opposition party the National Democratic Congress (NDC), suggesting that voters may have been transferred unlawfully without their knowledge. These allegations, if verified, could jeopardize the legitimacy of upcoming elections and erode public confidence in the electoral system.
He calls on the electoral Commissioner Madam Jean Mensa to investigate these claims with urgency and ensure transparency and fairness throughout the electoral process.
Dr Fiagborlo further emphasized the importance of maintaining public trust and avoiding unrest and urged both citizens and international observers to demand electoral integrity.
The letter has been copied to President Nana Akufo-Addo, Members of Parliament, and international observer organizations, underscoring the widespread concern and demand for a thorough examination of the electoral process as the nation prepares for the crucial election in December.
