The Kwahu Youth Choir (KYC) is set to celebrate its first anniversary with a musical concert, to showcase its talent and dedication to choral music. Formed in January 2022, the non-denominational group of young singers and instrumentalists has grown to 40 members, all residents of the Kwahu area.
To commemorate this milestone, the Kwahu Youth Choir will partner with Rock City Hotel, one of their key supporters, for an anniversary concert to highlight their achievements and growth over the past year. The concert which will be held under the theme “A Year of Inspiration: KYC’s Journey,” is a testament to the choir’s commitment to developing young talent and fostering a sense of community.
The event is expected to take place at the Rock City Hotel in Nkwatia-Kwahu on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 4 p.m.

In his address at the media launch, Kaakyire Kwabena Adusah, the Executive Director of KYC, expressed his excitement and gratitude at the first anniversary of the choir.
“I am thrilled to stand before you today to announce a milestone in our journey as a choir. Kwahu Youth Choir is celebrating its first anniversary, and we are excited to share this crucial occasion with you,” he said.

Over the past year, the Kwahu Youth Choir has performed at various events, including weddings, engagements, funerals, parties, and corporate events, making a significant impact on the community.
“We have worked tirelessly to create a platform where young people can come together, share their passion for music, and make a positive impact in our community,” Kaakyire noted.

The choir’s mission is to glorify God through music and to build relationships with people interested in knowing God. Their vision is reflected in their performances, which aim to inspire and uplift audiences with sacred gospel music.
Kaakyire emphasized the choir’s dedication to its mission, stating, “Our first-anniversary concert promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring a rich repertoire of songs that showcase our growth, talent, and dedication. We have prepared a thrilling program that will leave you inspired, uplifted, and entertained.”

Support from patrons, partners, and sponsors has been crucial to the choir’s success. Key supporters include Nana Owiredu Wadie I, the Nkↄsoↄhene of Kwahu Nkwatia and founder of KABAKA Foundation, and Hon. Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK), the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso Constituency.

The Kwahu Youth Choir’s objectives extend beyond music. They aim to develop the talent and leadership skills of young people, promote social responsibilities, and foster brotherliness among members. Through their performances, they seek to propagate the Good News and promote Ghanaian and African compositions.

“We invite you to join us on this special day as we celebrate our achievements, our growth, and our music. Let us come together to inspire, uplift, and transform Kwahuman through the power of music,” he noted.
