The camp of the Ledzokuku New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has denied claims that it is busing voters to transfer their votes to the constituency.
This follows allegations by the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who accuse the Dr Okoe Boye of orchestrating the busing of voters. According to the NDC, this tactic is aimed at manipulating the voter register in favour of the NPP in the upcoming elections. They claim that several instances of such activities have been recorded and are a deliberate attempt to distort the democratic process.
However, Dr Okoe Boye and his campaign team have vehemently denied these allegations, presenting counter-evidence to refute the claims and accusing the NDC of fabricating the stories to divert attention from their own actions.
The team stated that the accusations were baseless and part of a smear campaign orchestrated by the NDC to tarnish Dr Okoe Boye’s reputation and distract from their own misconduct.
To substantiate their denial, Dr Okoe Boye’s camp released several videos purportedly showing NDC operatives engaging in the very activities they accuse the NPP of. These videos allegedly depict NDC members organizing and facilitating the busing of individuals to transfer their votes, directly contradicting their public accusations against Dr. Okoe Boye.
“It is disheartening to see such desperate tactics being employed by our opponents. Our campaign has always been about integrity and serving the people of Ledzokuku. I urge everyone to look at the facts and see through the deception being peddled by the NDC. We are committed to ensuring a free and fair election, and we will not be distracted by these baseless allegations,” one of the close associates of Dr Okoe Boye noted.
