Kumasi: Police Officer Dies in Collision with Parked Vehicle While Pursuing Reckless Motorcyclist

A police officer has lost his life after his motorcycle collided with a stationary truck on the Kumasi-Accra highway. The officer, who remains unidentified, was reportedly in pursuit of a reckless motorcyclist when the accident occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Eyewitnesses described a harrowing scene as the officer lay injured, gasping for breath, while onlookers recorded the event on their phones. The impact of the collision left the officer gravely injured, with blood visible at the scene.

According to reports, the truck involved in the accident had experienced mechanical issues, prompting the driver and assistant to attend to it on the roadside. Moments later, the officer’s motorcycle collided with the truck, resulting in the fatal incident.

Despite efforts to render aid, the officer succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver and assistant of the truck reportedly fled the scene following the accident.
