The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has narrated how military personnel providing humanitarian relief services to the Akosombo Dam victims reversed their “order from above” command.
This comes amid earlier assertions that the soldiers deployed to the area for humanitarian relief operations were asked to withdraw, upon an order from a higher authority.
That supposed order which led to huge backlash on social media was said to have been reversed shortly after the soldiers packed bags and baggage and left the community.
In an earlier interview with Accra-based TV3, Mr Ablakwa said he had information that an order from above was the reason why the military withdrew from Mepe.
Taking to his social media handle shortly after that, he said “I just received a call indicating that the order has been reversed and that the soldiers have been directed to return with their boats and resume duty. Soon, we shall fish out those faceless, unpatriotic elements.”

In another post, he confirmed “that the military did indeed return following the reversal of that devious order from ‘above.'”
“Let’s be clear, the over 12,000 displaced beloved constituents of mine have done nothing wrong to deserve their current VRA-induced predicament — all we ask for is empathy and justice,” he said.
