NADMO has reported that 12 of the fishermen have been successfully rescued, while an ongoing search and rescue operation is actively scouring the area in pursuit of the missing seven individuals.

Ebenezer Dan-Doe, the Public Relations Officer of Ada East NADMO, provided insights into the incident. He disclosed that the two boats involved, named Shalorm and Barcelona, were collectively transporting 19 fishermen when the catastrophe unfolded.

“These two fishing boats went fishing and they were coming back when they met a tidal wave and the two boats capsized. The name of the first boat is Shalorm and we got to know that there were eleven people on board. We have seen ten and one is missing. We have also seen the boat, which is damaged.”
