A new viral video of Supt George Asare, one of the implicated police officers in the IGP leaked tape saga has surfaced.
This video comes amidst the ongoing parliamentary investigation into the contents of the leaked audio aimed at the removal of the current Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akufo Dampare.
The latest video, which lasts for 8 minutes and 9 seconds, prominently features Supt Asare and the former NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu.
In this video, Supt Asare presents claims and makes a strong case for the removal of the IGP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare.
He makes a series of allegations, one of which is the assertion that the IGP was responsible for the NPP’s defeat in the Assin North by-election.
Asare goes further to draw a comparison between his demand for the IGP’s departure and what might have occurred if Aseidu Nketia, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), had faced a similar scenario within his party involving the IGP.
The video captures a portion of their conversation, with Superintendent Asare expressing his concerns and seeking clarity:
Asare: I said, send this man away. What did you do? The President is aware; they have gone to complain to him.
Bugri: …I am telling you; everything will be okay.
Asare: When is he going? He is delaying.
Bugri: Before August.
Asare: Why August? What is in August?
Bugri: He said I should bring…
Asare: But you haven’t sent them. When is he going? He is delaying. This is not about somebody telling a lie; this is what happened at Assin North.
