Nana Yirenkyi I, the Apesemakahene of Akuapem Mampong, has firmly asserted that regardless of the relentless attacks and hate speech directed towards Sammi Awuku, he remains a steadfast grassroots figure.
Nana Yirenkyi I expressed admiration for Sammi Awuku, describing him as a respectable gentleman who surpasses those who engage in derogatory campaigns against him. He boldly stated, “Hate him or not, he is better than some of you.”
The Mampong Akuapem Apesemakahene, Nana Yirenkyi I, asserted that any attempts by certain individuals within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to besmirch Sammi Awuku’s reputation will ultimately prove futile.
Speaking to the media, Nana Yirenkyi emphasized that Sammi Awuku is among the few individuals within the NPP government who are open-handed and approachable to all.
“We, particularly those from Akuapem, especially Mampong Akuapem, will staunchly defend Sammi Awuku’s reputation. When NPP was in opposition, he was part of the men who stood in the courtroom to defend the NPP.”
Furthermore, Nana Yirenkyi I cautioned those engaging in attacks against Sammi Awuku to desist from such actions, lest he decides to “reveal the truth about all of them.”
