Assin North by-election: Former NPP MP hits campaign trail; urges residents to vote for party’s candidate

The former Member of Parliament for Assin North, Abena Durowaa Mensah, has hit the campaign trail to support Charles Opoku, the NPP’s candidate for the upcoming by-election.

During a speech to constituents in Assin Endwa, she urged the people to give the NPP another chance to bring development to the constituency.

She appealed to them to extend the same support they once gave to her and Ken Agyapong to Charles Opoku, emphasizing that voting for the NPP would ensure continued progress.

She expressed her frustration at hearing that the constituency had stagnated since her departure and assured the people that Charles Opoku was capable of carrying on where she left off.

“My message to the people of Assin Endwa is very short: Give the same support you once extended to Ken Agyapong and myself to Charles Opoku. I implore you to give him the same support. I believe you (the people of Endwa) that once you decide to do it, you do it,” she appealed.

She called on the people to vote for Charles Opoku so they could witness even greater progress and development.

“This is because once you are voting for us again then you know that it’s all about development. I am tired to hear that Abena, since your exit, we’ve been lagging in terms of development. Because you’re not there, everything is at a standstill. I am tired of hearing that. For now, the opportunity beckons, Charles Opoku has been offered to you to continue where I left off.”

“I am pleading with you to vote for him and let’s win so we can bring you more developments that are more than you’re witnessing. Words of wisdom are indeed short,” she further highlighted.
