Day 2 of the Up Girl Literary Project has successfully concluded. This reading and conversation program, organised by the Duo Concept Foundation, is part of its interventionist initiatives aimed at empowering youth through knowledge acquisition and sharing.
The book in focus was Talata, the Child Bride, published by Adwinsa Publications Ghana Limited. The book sheds light on the issue of child marriage in Ghana, with emphasis on the experiences and struggles of the girl child.
Experts in their respective fields, including the Principal Marshal of Parliament of Ghana, Wing Cdr. Frederick Bawa (Rtd), a communication expert and child rights advocate, Lawrencia Thompson, a specialist in adolescent and youth development issues, and Adjoa Nyanteng Yenyi shared words of wisdom and insightful thoughts.

They urged the participants to be respectful when delivering information while creating a lasting impact. They engaged deeply with the text and reflected on the real-life implications of early and forced marriage.

By fostering dialogue around such a critical issue, the Duo Concept Foundation continues to inspire informed decision-making and social awareness among the youth.
