Pope John SHS and Minor Seminary is marking its 67th Anniversary with a Speech and Prize-Giving Day and Old Students’ Homecoming, currently underway at its Effiduase campus.
The event, which has drawn large crowds of students, alumni, parents, and dignitaries, is being held under the theme: “POJOSS: The Past, The Present and The Future; We are Building Together.”
Gracing the occasion as Special Guest of Honour is Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, a proud old boy of the prestigious institution. Dr Boamah is expected to deliver the keynote address, touching on leadership, patriotism, and the role of education in nation-building.
Also present are other distinguished old students who now serve in high public office, including Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Ofoase/Ayirebi and former Minister for Information, and Professor Titus Beyuo, the MP for Lambussie.
The event features a colourful parade, awards for outstanding students and teachers, musical and cultural performances, and a strong show of unity from the Pojoba Old Students Association, many of whom have travelled from across the country and abroad to participate.
