Dr Edward Omane Boamah: Defence Minister Assures of Gov’t’s Commitment to Address Critical Challenges at 37 Military Hospital

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured Ghanaians that the government is taking urgent steps to resolve critical challenges affecting the 37 Military Hospital.

Dr Boamah gave this assurance in a Facebook post on Friday, February 14, after a working visit to the facility. Accompanied by the Chief of the Defence Staff and senior officers from the Defence Ministry, the Minister described the visit as a homecoming, given his medical background.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception from his former colleagues—both senior and junior staff—as well as civilian employees and patients at the hospital.

The Defence Minister noted that the visit was part of a broader strategy to better understand the challenges facing the Ghana Armed Forces and devise practical, cost-effective solutions.

“The challenges are numerous but not insurmountable,” Dr. Boamah stated.

He further revealed that President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is working tirelessly to address the most urgent issues to enhance healthcare delivery at the hospital.

“Subsequent to my visit, the President John Dramani Mahama Government is making frantic efforts to fix some urgent and critical challenges that are vital for the delivery of quality care at the hospital,” Dr. Boamah said.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to revamping the country’s key institutions as part of the broader plan to reset Ghana.
