The Bono East Regional Islamic Education Unit has declared a bold new agenda dubbed Vision 2030, aimed at reshaping the performance of Islamic schools across the region and raising educational standards to compete nationally.
The declaration was made at a high-level stakeholders’ engagement held at the Tanoso Imam Seidu Islamic School in the Techiman Municipality, bringing together officials from the regional unit, headteachers, proprietors, circuit supervisors, PTA and SMC chairpersons, assembly members and imams from within the Tanoso Circuit.
According to the leadership, Vision 2030 is a five-year strategic plan that will focus on discipline, teacher motivation, academic excellence and moral upbringing, which are the core values of Islamic education.
The leadership, while addressing stakeholders, emphasised the need for active involvement in the proactive mission of reshaping the educational drive to become the number one unit among mission schools in the region and the nation at large.
The Bono East Regional Manager, Alhaji Ahmed Ushau Shahid, disclosed the motive behind the move, outlining the roadmap to achieving the goal. He spoke to our reporter on the sidelines.
The Regional Manager further explained the measures put in place to ensure the successful implementation of the vision to move Islamic education from 27th position in previous rankings to first by 2030 in the region.
