Chinese Africa Business Council Explores Investment Opportunities in Volta Water Infrastructure

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has led a delegation of investors from the Chinese Africa Business Council to the Kpeve Water Pumping and Treatment Station to assess its operations and explore opportunities for expanding its production capacity.

The visit formed part of efforts by the Regional Coordinating Council to attract strategic investments aimed at strengthening water infrastructure and improving access to safe and reliable potable water for residents across the Volta Region.

During the tour of the facility, the Station Manager, Eric Avornyo, took the delegation through the various operational processes of the station and provided detailed briefings on its current production capacity, challenges, and its critical role in supplying treated water to communities within the region.

Hon. James Gunu said the engagement with the investors was a significant step towards building partnerships that would enhance the capacity of existing water facilities and support sustainable development in the region.

He expressed optimism that the proposed investment would contribute to increasing water production capacity, improving service delivery, and ensuring that more communities have access to dependable potable water.

The delegation included the Member of Parliament for South Dayi Constituency and Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Kwami Etse Dafeamekpor, Esq, the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Hon. Courage Kwame Kokroko, and the District Chief Executive for Afadzato South, Hon. Manfred Tawiah.

The team discussed the potential benefits of the proposed investment and the opportunities it presents for the growth and development of the Volta Region.

The Regional Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Regional Coordinating Council to collaborate with investors and stakeholders to promote projects that will improve infrastructure, create opportunities, and enhance the quality of life of the people.
