Voting has successfully commenced at the Ola Senior High School polling centre in the Ho Central Constituency, with the process described as peaceful and well-organized so far.
Speaking to the media shortly after polls opened, the Ho Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, Emelia Akotia, confirmed that voting began promptly at 7:00 a.m. across the constituency, with all electoral materials duly received ahead of time.
According to her, the Electoral Commission is fully prepared to facilitate the participation of the 1,399 delegates expected to cast their ballots in the exercise.
“All the materials we need have been received. As you can see, voting has started and the process is peaceful so far. We are expecting 1,399 delegates to vote in this election,” she stated.
Ms. Akotia explained that voting is scheduled to officially close at 2:00 p.m., after which the Commission will be able to determine whether all accredited delegates have exercised their franchise.
She also assured stakeholders that the process is being closely observed, revealing that agents from four out of the five candidates are already present at the centre.
“So far, we have four candidates who have all brought their agents. We are expecting the fifth person to join us soon,” she noted.
On security, the Municipal EC Director expressed satisfaction with the level of police deployment at the polling centre, describing it as adequate to ensure law and order throughout the exercise.
“We have more than enough policemen on the ground,” she affirmed.
The Electoral Commission is hopeful that the election will continue peacefully until its conclusion, reinforcing its commitment to a transparent and credible process in the Ho Central Constituency.
