NPP releases list of voting centres ahead of Saturday’s presidential primary

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has released an updated list of approved voting centres for its presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The revised document, circulated to party executives, regional organisers and election officials, outlines designated polling venues across all constituencies and regions. The update comes less than 24 hours before delegates head to the polls, in a move aimed at ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated voting process.

Party sources say the updated list is intended to clarify voting arrangements, address logistical concerns raised by some regional structures, and guide accredited delegates on where to cast their ballots during the crucial internal contest.

The presidential primary is expected to be one of the most competitive in the NPP’s history, as the party prepares to elect a flagbearer to lead it into the next general election. The outcome will play a significant role in shaping the party’s rebuilding efforts and strategic direction ahead of the national polls.

They are former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong; Abetifi Member of Parliament, Dr Bryan Acheampong; Bosomtwe MP, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.

In recent days, party leaders have urged delegates to adhere strictly to electoral guidelines and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the voting process. The NPP’s National Executive Committee has also reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the conduct of the primary.

Security arrangements are expected to be in place at the various voting centres nationwide, with party officials working closely with relevant authorities to maintain order.

Delegates have been advised to verify their assigned voting centres ahead of time and comply with all accreditation requirements on election day.

The NPP leadership has expressed confidence that the updated arrangements will facilitate an orderly process and reinforce the credibility of the party’s internal democratic system.
