The Coordinating Director of the Public Affairs Subdivision of Parliament, Kate Addo, has encouraged young professionals and entrepreneurs to balance their main careers with side ventures, stressing that side hustles should complement — not conflict with — one’s primary job.
Speaking at the Side Hustle Connect 2025 event, Madam Addo highlighted the importance of consistency, integrity, and resilience in building a successful business.
“Every effort counts, no matter how small,” she said. “Great achievements often begin with humble beginnings and steady, persistent work.”
She reminded participants that honesty is the most valuable currency in business, urging them to remain transparent, resilient, and kind to themselves, especially when facing challenges.
“Failure should not be a reason to quit,” she added. “It’s better to try and fail than not to try at all.”
Her inspiring message resonated with participants, many of whom described her address as timely and empowering, particularly in today’s fast-changing economic landscape, where multiple income streams are becoming essential.
