The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations and MP for Wa Central, Dr Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, today, September 19, 2025, joined the Duo Concept Foundation to mentor students from second-cycle institutions in the Greater Accra Region.
The Minister, who was the Guest of Honour at the opening of GAWBOFEST, called on the students to make reading a habit. He also highlighted the advantages of writing and shared how poetry impacted his childhood and shaped his worldview.
The Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Broadcasting Department, Peter Azameti Bamfo, emphasised the importance of reading and urged the students to make it a habit. Mr Bamfo also referred to laws that protect child rights and encouraged the normalisation of their use to safeguard the youth.
The Up Girl Literary Project is one of the Duo Concept Foundation’s interventionist programmes aimed at empowering the youth to make informed decisions through knowledge acquisition and sharing.
