The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has appointed Hashim Tanko Nuhu as the Acting Metropolitan Director for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the Western Region.
A letter dated April 30, 2025, and signed by NADMO’s Director-General, Maj. (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, indicated that Mr. Nuhu’s appointment takes effect from May 2, 2025.
“In consultation with the Governing Council, I have the pleasure to inform you that you have been appointed as the Acting Metropolitan Director into the National Disaster Management Organisation to the rank of Assistant Chief Disaster Control Officer (ACDCO),” the letter stated.
Mr. Nuhu is expected to assume his new post at the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly as the principal NADMO officer, responsible for coordinating disaster management operations in the metropolis.
“You are kindly requested to report to the Acting Western Regional Director of NADMO for further instructions,” the letter stated.
Until his appointment, Mr Nuhu served as the Sekondi Constituency Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and is widely credited with playing a key role in helping the NDC snatch the Sekondi parliamentary seat during the just-ended 2024 general elections.
